Amberly Amble green grass and countryside

Walk one: the Amberley amble

Curated by Jim Down and Laura Wotton, this 15km walk encompasses everything West Sussex stands for. The views are stunning, north, south, east and west. The pub stop is perfectly placed in the quintessential English village and there’s a pub and a café at the finish right by the station before you head home, weary but elated.

Walk two: West Sussex explorer

Fancy a two-wheel adventure? This route takes you through the heart of West Sussex covering 92km of the county. It’s a tour of West Sussex’s back lanes with lung-busting hills and exhilarating descents. Curated by Peter Bristowe, the adventure also highlights the best places to stop for a coffee and a beautiful Anglo-Saxon church with a second world war story to tell.

Walk three: castle in the air

This riverside walk in the South Downs was curated by an unknown man on a bench outside The George at Burpham. He’d been enjoying this walk for 60 years and it gives wonderful views of the South Downs and glimpses of Arundel Castle. With a recommended pub lunch half-way, it’s a great way to enjoy beautiful Amberley.
